I was the crew chief on tail number 67-10855. I went to Cu Chi, Long Than north, and Saigon. My pilots were David Starkey, Captain Richard Fry and Roland Brown. After Thailand, I returned to Dallas married, had three sons, completed college, worked 37 years at Love Field as an inspector and mechanic and five years as a substitute teacher waiting for my wife to retire. We relocated to the rural three years ago where it is peaceful.and we really enjoy it. Unfortunately, I was diagnosed with Parkinson's last year. It has been a challenge but I am coping. The challenge for me is trying to prove I was on the grounds in Vietnam. Wish me luck.

Hi Karl, I served with the 70th from Jan 1970 until Jan 71. so I guess that I was there after you left. I flew the U-21, U-1 Otter and the U-6 Beaver. I can remember the faces of some of the U-21 crew chiefs but not all their names. I do remember one U-21 Crew Chief that we called JoJo and another named Lujan. We had three U-21s, tail numbers 6718055, -056 and -057. Karl, what have you been doing since Thailand?

I retired from Army active duty in 1989 and retired from being an airline pilot in 2007. I now live in Sierra Vista, AZ where I recently retired as a civil service flight instructor at Ft Huachuca. Regards, Clark Wilson e-mail: clarkwilson2u2@msn.com
